What Does the following lung CT Scan Indicate?

My husband had a ct of his lungs. It showed an 11mm nodule in the left upper lobe. Also he has sub centimeter sub pleural nodules near the lungapices.he also ha mediastinal adenopathy not changed from previous examination. He is former smoker and a former coal miner worked underground. Could this be related to these two things, should we get a second opinion, and is he at risk for lung cancer?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Anyone who has smoked and worked in coal mines is at risk for lung cancer. These findings need to be followed closely by a pulmonologist. The specialist, pulmonologist, must decide if the nodules need to be biopsied or just followed with repeat CT scans.
